Clouds over Olana Frederic Edwin Church
"Thoughts are not a problem." --- The Alchemist.
It is the attitude that we have towards these thoughts that matters.
So we can't make a distinction between "negative"
thoughts
and "positive"
thoughts
.
There are only thoughts that are closely related to people around us and the environment that we live.
It's important to note that the mind is like a filter that holds only what it want.
This creates
inevitably
a wrong "classification" of our thoughts that can lead sometimes a self-centered attitude towards what happens to our life.
Most of what we perceive has nothing to do with us, but we are used to believe the opposite: whatever people can tell us or do to us is in response to ourselves.
This is a big mistake. Why? Because any behavior that a person can have is exclusively related to his personal experience.
Unfortunately we tend to listen the mind than heart and this implies thinking in "negative".
Negative thoughts come from a mind that doesn't care about our feelings but only to survival. It can make you believe to what is not true or to what does not exist.
For this reason it is necessary to remove the spotlight from ourselves and no longer perceive everything that happens to us as something addressed to our person. Now we can take away the habit of checking and free ourselves.
When we learn that thoughts are only abstract entities and exist only with our permission, you will have another view of reality. This doesn't mean that we can liberate ourselves from thoughts, or we can control them, but they will have a different weight if we stop judging them externalizing our energy only to what is most useful and important.
